Yan currently serves as a Councilmember for the City of Saratoga. She was first elected to the Saratoga City Council in 2018 and served as Mayor in 2021. In 2022, she was re-elected with the highest number of votes, reaffirming the community’s trust in her leadership. She proudly served a second term as Mayor in 2024.

Yan began her career in the semiconductor industry as an analog integrated circuit designer at National Semiconductor and later worked in the business sector, developing marketing, sales, analytical and project coordination expertise.  She is also a licensed California real estate appraiser,

Yan and her family moved to Saratoga in 1998, where all three of her children attended Saratoga public schools. She has long been deeply involved in the community, volunteering extensively in leadership and service roles. Her volunteer work includes serving as Board Member and Treasurer of the Saratoga Elementary PTA, Student Art Chair for the Saratoga Rotary Art Show, and a volunteer referee for the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO). Beyond Saratoga, Yan has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service at the county level, serving nine years on the Santa Clara County Commission on the Status of Women.
